Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the CareerPath website and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
CareerPath ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") is a career guidance platform that provides AI-powered career quizzes, personalised learning roadmaps, resume building and analysis tools, and related educational content. Our registered contact address for legal notices is support@ourdomain.com.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or submit personal data through the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Users in jurisdictions where a higher age threshold applies for lawful data processing (e.g. 18 in certain countries) must meet that higher threshold.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we discover that a user is under 16, we will promptly delete their account and associated data. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, contact us at support@ourdomain.com.
To access personalised features you must register an account with a valid email address and password. You agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.
CareerPath provides the following features (subject to change):

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service strictly for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not include the right to:
Any use of the Service other than as specifically authorised herein, without our prior written permission, is strictly prohibited and will immediately terminate the licence granted above.
The Service may allow you to submit, post, or transmit content such as resume information, quiz responses, roadmap progress, and communications with us ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights you hold in your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant CareerPath a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, store, process, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, providing you with personalised recommendations, and complying with our legal obligations.
You represent and warrant that:
We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms or applicable law, without prior notice and at our sole discretion.
The Service uses artificial intelligence models (including third-party AI APIs) to generate career recommendations, resume feedback, personality assessments, skill-gap analyses, and other outputs ("AI Outputs").
AI Outputs are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional career counselling, legal advice, financial advice, or any other form of professional advice. AI Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your individual circumstances.
You acknowledge that AI systems can produce biased, incorrect, or unexpected results and you agree to apply your own judgement before acting on any AI Output.
The Service integrates or links to third-party websites, services, and tools including but not limited to external learning platforms, job boards, and resource providers. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. CareerPath is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.
Your use of third-party services is entirely at your own risk. We encourage you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party service before using it.
By creating an account or providing your email address through any form on the Service (quiz email capture, waiting list), you consent to receiving transactional emails related to your account and the features you use (e.g., quiz results and roadmap recommendations).
We may also send you promotional or marketing emails if you have provided explicit consent. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by:
Opting out of marketing emails does not prevent us from sending transactional emails necessary for the operation of your account.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERPATH EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAREERPATH, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE, EVEN IF CAREERPATH HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CareerPath and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgements, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service, including but not limited to any User Content you submit, your violation of any applicable law, or any infringement of third-party rights by you.
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service, immediately and without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including if you breach these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time by submitting a request to support@ourdomain.com. Upon deletion, your account credentials and profile data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days, subject to retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 12 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 13 (Limitation of Liability), 14 (Indemnification), and 16 (Governing Law).
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Informal resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@ourdomain.com and give us at least 30 days to attempt an informal resolution.
Binding arbitration (where permitted): If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
Consumer rights: Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have as a consumer under the mandatory provisions of the laws of your country of residence. If you are an EU or UK consumer, you may also bring a claim before the courts of your country of domicile. The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CareerPath regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations freely.
Force majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, pandemic, or internet infrastructure failures.
